At heart, I’m part documentarian and part story-teller.
It all started with a camera that I got from my mother and father as a Christmas gift in the 5th grade. My parents thought it would be a better idea to give me my own camera rather than always stealing their own so I could document the things that most interested me in my home town.
I had always had a curiosity for the world and genuinely interested in other peoples stories, in many ways I found inspiration in them, especially in the fast paced world that we live in today. I visited a part of the world not everyone has the opportunity to venture to in my early 20s, Afghanistan. That experience is what opened up my eyes and heart to an entire new world I had only seen in books and magazines like National Geographic when I was young. I somehow began to look at the world from a new set of eyes, with an urge to listen, travel, ask questions, and learn more about the world around me. I knew that my camera could be a valuable and powerful tool for this if used the right way during the right times. I found a new love for people, their cultures, and historical identities that makes the world such a beautiful place.
Working with me whether for a personal project or collaboration means having the ability to work with someone who is dedicated, detail oriented, and laser beam focused on whatever task is given. Take the time to look through my portfolio if your looking for a filmmaker with experience in aerial videography or a photographer who has a passion to document life and the ability to make those being photographed feel as relaxed as possible.
